#OMD3: Under the Sea & twinsie post with Michelle

I hope everyone has been keeping well... I haven't posted this week and in a way I feel guilty. It's just that I have been feeling so exhausted. I'm used to the dark circles under my eyes most of the times, but lately I'm a bit of a shock to myself.

Anyway, I ended up torturing myself again with this post. It would seem I'm a sucker for punishment, because it's twinsie time again with Michelle... And I totally sucked ass with this prompt. I feel that almost everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong. I'm not gonna point out what went wrong, I'll leave it up to you to figure that part out.
I started with two coats of L.A Girl 3D effects Brilliant Blue. It's a beautiful polish, but not the kinda holo that I want... It's not the blue that's holo, it's the flakies. And I want the blue to be holo. If that makes sense.
Once it was dry (and after having bumped my nails), I stamped images off plate BP-L017. I stuck to the images that looked "under the sea". I really like the jellyfish, makes me think of Dory in Finding Nemo, "I will name him Squishy and he will be my squishy"... Something along those lines.
Besides that I had him stamped in pink over the algae looking plants on my ring finger, I think he's cute. That what you can see...

I used my essence stampy polish in white for all of the stamping. And let me tell you, it's difficult stamping with white when your stamper is white and you can't see if the image picked up properly.
This was also done in a bit of a rush, as I haven't had a off day since last Monday.

I'm hoping Michelle had some trouble with this prompt (sorry Mich), but at this moment I feel totally inadequate...Even though I had some people say they liked my nails and I'm thinking "Suuuuuure, wait until you know what it's SUPPOSED to be." Don't forget to pop over to give Michelle some luuurve. :D

#OMD3: Love

This post was originally to show you the beautiful Hean #220. But I decided to double it up as the Love prompt for the Oh Mon Dieu nail challenge.

This two coats of #220, now Strawberry Surprise. As we've come to expect from all of the Hean's so far, they dry super quick and is very shiny.
I actually did something else with this colour, which was a total fail.
I then decided on this and when I saw the prompts for the OMD3, I knew I had to use this for Love.
On my middle finger I have two coats of Ordinary Misfit. I did some double stamping there, I stamped the fleur de lis design from BP-L016 with Strawberry Surprise and then the kissing couple with my black stampy polish.
On my index finger I stamped with Tip Top Red Rendezvous and on my pinky with my black stampy polish. Both images from BP-L012.
On my ring finger I used Tip Top Red Rendesvouz again and an image from BP-L013. So does this seem lovey enough?

#OMD3: Cat

Oh man, am I glad this week is half way done... It's going to be a long one as there is a possibility that Eid is Friday and we will only be 5 people managing a 12 doctor practice. Sounds like fun, right? Either that or my sense of what fun is, is completely twisted. Let's just go with twisted... Hehe

Anyway, today is day 15 of the Oh Mon Dieu nail challenge and the prompt is cat. Again, a couple of ideas floated around in my mind, none of which came to fruition. So I opted for something simple.
I started with two coats of Tip Top Broken Soul.
Broken Soul is a beautiful lilac, slightly darker than Tip Top Fairy Dust. Once that was dry I added cat decals I got from BPS.
The star studs I got from Gael. She was kind enough to give it to me the last time I visited her. They were sent to her by BPS, can't exactly remember why, but I'm glad she gave them to me. Thanks Gael!!
This was actually a fun mani, people kept noticing it and saying they liked it. It also came out that a colleague has a mug at work that has a cat like this on it. And we couldn't figure out why the damn cat looked so familiar! Haha

#OMD3: Leaves

It's kinda weird posting on a Saturday... There was a time that I posted on Sundays, but I've changed my schedule. Still it's Saturday and it feels wrong. Anyway, the reason for today's post is the Oh Mon Dieu challenge. Day 11 is leaves and how difficult can it be with great stamping plates?

I started with 3 coats of Hean #225 (Mojito Madness) on all my fingers. Kinda odd that the swatch Michelle did required only 2 coats to be opaque, but I needed 3. Anyway, once that was dry, I used the 'dry brush' technique on my middle finger.
I used Tip Top Liquid Envy and Lazy Lizard. I used stamping plate BP-L015 for the leave pattern on my middle finger and the leaves on my index... I made a stamping decal with BP-L001 for my ring finger. I used Nubar Conserve for all the stamping. Conserve was a bday gift from Michelle and it's a beautiful colour and it stamps amazingly well.
I used Liquid Envy and Lazy Lizard to colour in the decal I made for my ring finger. I kinda like how this came out. You can't see much of the dry brush though and BF thinks that's because my colours are to close to each other. Oh well... Guess I'll have to try it again sometime...
Excuse the white flecks on my fingers... I was trying out a new liquid palisade, nail barrier thing and it probably wasn't the best time to try it. It is crap, seriously. My right hand still has patches of this stuff on my nails and it won't come off. It'll probably come off when I remove my mani. I think it took me longer to try and get this shit of my hand than what the actual manicure did. How sad, right?

#OMD3: Floral aka Sakura

This post has been sitting in drafts for ever such a long time, because shortly after I did it, the PPSA nail challenge started and it didn't fit any of the prompts... And now I have found the perfect spot for it. The OMD3 nail art challenge! Here is the prompts.
My posting will be a bit erratic this month as I'm only going to do some of the prompts.
I've been wanting to do cherry blossoms for the longest of times... I was a bit apprehensive as my freehand skills are basically non-existant. And I didn't have, what I thought to be, a brown polish that stamps well, since I was planning on cheating and stamping the "branches"! But then Michelle did this and I knew I had to get Chic me Baby.

I started with two coats of Tip Top Cha Cha Cha.
This has always been one of my favourite shades. The only reason why I don't use it often is because of the colour separation in the bottle... Man it drives me nuts! It looks more white in the bottle than anything else. Hence no bottle with the swatch.
Once Cha Cha Cha was dry and I was watching it like a hawk in case I spotted any bubbles due to all the shaking, I stamped on my "branches" with plate QA21 from BPS.
Then I went to work with my dotting tool and randomly added some blossoms with Tip Top Melting Marshmellows, over that I dotted with Tip Top Sherbet Angel and over that with No Way Rose, also from Tip Top. For my leaves I used Tip Top We have an agreen mint and a dotting tool.
I absolutely loved how this come out. I kept catching glimpses of my nails throughout the day and would have to stop to admire!

My little piece of Ordinary Misfit

I'm always super excited to visit Gael from Glamore Cosmetics. The previous time I was there I was excited to walk away with (obviously) some new polishes, one of them being an Hean Ordinary Misfit!
I've showed you #809 here and I looooooves it! I paired it with Ordinary Misfit then, but today I have it with something else.

I started with 2 coats of Ordinary Misfit. This polish really is very unique. Such a beaut.
I can only imagine how it must feel to have your name on a nail polish. (sigh)
One of the other polishes I got is #261 from the Stardust collection. It has small round white glitter and bigger hexagonal pieces in white, light blue and a peachy colour. This is such a pretty glitter!
I tried for a gradient effect on all my nails except my ring finger. My ring finger has one coat of #261.
I can't get over how pretty Ordinary Misfit is... And how well #261 goes with it. It's like it was made for it. This was another one of those mani's that I couldn't keep my eyes off of. What do you think? Don't you think you deserve an Ordinary Misfit?

#PPSAnailchallenge: Needle

This was another of those prompts that made me go WTF? It's like the Nailanarchy ladies wanted to torture us mortals. Hehe I can't believe this is the last prompt for this challenge. It was fun while it lasted.

I felt like I cheated on this one, again. I was going to do the whole, paint polish on plastic, drag and make a design, wait for it to dry and stick on my nail. But I didn't like the outcome of any of the test runs I did.

Then I remembered a stamp design on one of my BP plates and I decided to use that, since it looks like a needle drag design.

I started with 2 coats of I Love Hean #809 on all my fingers except my middle finger, which has two coats of #408, also from the I Love Hean range.
I then stamped with #408 on my index and ring finger using plate BP-41.
For some reason I didn't line up the stamp on my ring finger very well. So there's a gap at my cuticle... Oh well.
I love these two colours together. So pretty. What do you think of my needle? Don't forget to check out the rest of mani's.
