#PPSAnailchallenge: Unicorn

Hey peoples!! So today marks the start of something awesome... Today is the start of a nail challenge by a Facebook group that I'm part of, Polished Pretties South Africa. See the badge? On the right over there... It's so coooool.
Here's the prompt if you want to follow. As you can see, two posts a week. I've already figured out that unicorn and pink was chosen by Michelle, because duh! That's her obsession. Anyway, on to the first one...

I started with 2 coats of OPI Eurso Euro, which was a gift from BF for my bday.
I was slightly stressed about this one, because I had no idea how I was going to do unicorn and was so happy when I found that I had a stamping plate with a unicorn. I used plate BP-41 and Tip Top Armourplate on my middlefinger.
The stars is on plate BP L-006, I also used Armourplate for that. On my thumb and pinky is one coat of SC Charmed.
I love how it all came together. The moon with the unicorn and the stars... And the glitter, so pretty. This is one of those mani's I kept looking at...
What do you think? I think I nailed it, but of course there's more to see. So check out the other ladies' work by clicking on the Inlinkz thingy-me-bob.

I love Hean collection #408

I'm loving our weather we have today. It's cold and rainy and I couldn't be happier. Oh I could be, if I didn't have to work. But I'm sure everyone feels like that.
Anyway, Yay!! I have more Hean's!!

Today's one is absolutely beautiful. It looks like a dark forest green, but hold it against green and it looks a deep blue. Regardless, the colour is amazing. This will be a favourite to use.

Let me show you #408. This is two shiny coats.
I struggled to capture the true colour of this one.
Of course there's some art to go with it... I've been dying to use my starburst vinyls I got from Llarowe some time ago and finally I had the opportunity.
The glitter is from Glamore Cosmetics. It is #354, Icy Lakes, an Omega polish I haven't tried yet.
I just love the two together!
What do you think of #408? Do pop by on their website and get one before there's non left!

Eurso Euro

I made stamping decals for a colleague of mine that wanted me to do her nails for her bday. Unfortunately something came up and I never did do her nails, but I ended up using the decals on myself.

I can honestly say I don't like it that much. It seems too messy and untidy. I painted 2 coats of OPI Eurso Euro on my thumb and pinky, two coats of SC Snow me White on my index and ring finger and two coats of Tip Top Cherries in the Snow on my middle finger.
For the decals I used Tip Tip In the Navy and Cherries in the Snow. On my middle finger I stamped using Tip Top Gold Mine. I used plate BP 37 from BPS, for both the flag and the stamp on my middle finger.
From afar it doesn't look too bad, but when you look closely you can see my lines aren't very crisp and the clean up with the decals was difficult, as they had dried out quite a bit by the time I used them. What's your opinion? I honestly consider it to be a fail.

Twinsie post with Michelle: Waterfall nails aka watermelon nails

Man, it's been a crazy week. Thank goodness it's almost over...

Today I have another twinsie post with Michelle. I don't know about her but I enjoyed the previous one, so here we are again. :D We decided on waterfall nails this time round with the colour scheme of green and pink.

I also have a new Hean polish to show today. This is 3 coats of #809, from the I Love Hean collection.
You can get away with 2 coats, but I felt I needed 3. And OMG!! I love this green, it's awesome! Super shiny and dries in no time at all.

Okay, back to the post... I saw this mani done by the Nailasaurus and I wanted to do something similar. So I started with 3 coats of #809 on my thumb and pinky, 2 coats of Hean Ordinary Misfit on my middle and one coat of SC Snow me White on my ring and index. That would be the base of my gradient. For the gradient I used #809 and Ordinary Misfit.
Soooo pretty! Could have stopped here, but we chose waterfall so I had to continue. For my "waterfall" I used TT Sexy Bikini, Nubar Conserve, Colours by Llarowe Gemini Rising and obviously Hean #809 and Ordinary Misfit.
The first thing that came to mind when I was finished was, "it looks like a watermelon". And I think I got slightly carried away, because when I was done, you couldn't see the gradient. But I was having so much fun!!
For some reason, when I showed BF he thought "witch doctor"... Like huh? What? Where? He thought it was orange... Yeah, I was confused too.
So naturally, what do you think? And don't forget to pop over to Michelle to check out what she did. Aaaaand if you like #809 as much as I do, don't forget to go to Glamore Cosmetics to get it.

I love Hean Collection: Black

Whoooo more Hean polishes!! This is one of the polishes that Gael from Glamore Cosmetics chose for me when I couldn't make up my mind. For some reason this one doesn't have a number like the others from the collection, it just says 10t. But it's clearly black, so I'll just go with Black :)

I started with two coats. Super shiny, as we have come to expect from this range.
I have a few Hean polishes already, they all dry with an awesome shine and in no time at all. They easy to work with and the only problem I have.... I want a bigger bottle!! Bigger bottle means more polish and I mean who doesn't want more polish?
The first (and last) time I browsed Pintrest, I saw this half moon glitter art that I loved, knew I wanted to try it some time, tried to "pin" it and gave up. So I can't tell you who did it or really where it came from. After Black was dry, I taped on some french manicure guides, but vertically across my nail. Then I sponged on some glitter!
The glitter I used is from the Ulta3 polishes BF's mom gave to me at Christmas. In order from my thumb to pinky is, Pot of Gold, Disco Fever, Over the Rainbow, New Years Eve and Luck of the Irish. I then top coated with Seche.
Once that was dry, I freehanded with OPI matte top coat and left the glitter shiny and the black matte.
I feel that the glitter should have had more of an arch and that I shouldn't have gotten blue glitter where it wasn't supposed to go, but other than that... It's not too bad. What do you think?

Plaid nails

I'm part of a Whatsapp group where we share nails, tips and a whole lot of other things. One of the ladies had nails wraps on one day that looked like plaid material. It reminded me of a stamping plate I have from BPS and I wanted to stamp with it ASAP.

Since we loving Hean so much at the moment, I used 2 coats of Hean #805 from the I love Hean collection. Then I stamped using plate BP L-006 and the first image on the second line. For the stamp I used Tip Top Surfer Girl and then over that SC Snow me White.
I first top coated it with Sech Vite. I really like the stamping, Surfer Girl is very subtle and the whole look reminds me of material.
After Seche I top coated it with OPI Matte top coat.
And I love it even more! It looks so much more like material now and the subtle shimmer of Surfer Girl shows better. I think it got lost in the shine of #805 and Seche.
What do you think? I actaully had quite a few people commenting on my tartan nails!

Blue!

This is another idea that I've been toying with for a while. I saw this image on a stamping plate from BPS, L-005. A wave design, which I loved and I knew I had to do something with it.

I wasn't quite sure what blues I wanted to use. So I mailed my trusty adviser, Michelle, and asked her what she thought.

So, I started with two coats of Tip Tip Beach Babe.
Michelle did a comparison between Beach Babe and the new shade Blueberry Pie here, it was between these two that I wasn't too sure which one to use for my base. I settled for Beach Babe because it was the darker and dustier of the two.
I then randomly sponged on Lady Lila, Blueberry Pie, Cha Cha Cha and Blue meets Green, all from Tip Top. Once that was dry I stamped using SC Snow me White and the wave image.
I was such a chop when I stamped my right hand, I stamped most of the images upside down. Aaaaand I was using my right hand for my pictures.
Let me know what you think. I can't decide whether I like it or not...

Lady Lila's Happy Ending

Oh man I love this! When the post name just comes together and you can use only the nail polishes names.

I really loved wearing this mani. It was so pretty, I didn't want to take it off.
I started with two coats of Tip Top Lady Lila, named by wonderful Sam. Lady Lila is a blue toned lilac and boy, is it not pretty?
I added some rose decals from BPS that you can find here and I added one coat of Parental Advisory Polish's Happy Ending on my pinky, middle finger and thumb.
Look at that flakie goodness! OMGosh! The coverage that you get from one thin coat is amazing.
Are you seeing yet why I love this hard? I don't have words. One more pic if you don't see it yet....
If you haven't seen it by now, I don't think you will. I can't wait to use Happy Ending again. It's soooo pretty. Pity I couldn't get a full size bottle, I only have two mini's. But considering the coverage on one coat, I'm sure it might last some time.

What do you think? Do you luuuurve that flakie goodness?
